FIELD: coatings of metallic materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of valves, spools and other precision parts. The method includes heating and holding a sealed crucible filled with an inert gas with workpieces and a borating charge at a temperature of 850 to 1050°C for 1.0 to 4 hours. The borating charge has the following composition, wt %: silicon carbide 20-25, boron carbide 50-55, aluminium oxide 15-20, sodium fluoride 5-8, sodium chloride 2-5. The borating charge is poured onto the bottom of the crucible with a layer of thickness from 15 to 25 mm, the workpieces are placed at a distance of 5 to 7 mm from the borating charge so that they do not have direct contact with it, the container is filled with an inert gas and sealed. After exposure, the crucible is removed from the furnace, cooled in air, depressurized, and parts are removed from the crucible.
EFFECT: increased reliability and life of precision parts and increased life and energy efficiency of their production process.
