METHOD OF COLD COMPOSITE REPAIR BY PERMANENT METHOD OF THROUGH DEFECTS IN PIPELINES WITHOUT CHANGING PUMPING MODES Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC F16L55/172 F16L55/175

Abstract RU 2805717 C1

FIELD: pipelines.

SUBSTANCE: construction and repair of pipelines. The proposed method makes it possible to repair through defects in pipelines without changing pumping modes. To do this, in an emergency procedure, without stopping pumping, on one side of the through defect, the pipeline section is cleared of soil, dirt, peeled insulation and separated corrosion products. In the first of the cleaned areas, at a minimum safe distance from the through defect, a sealing unit is assembled into the girth of the pipeline. The sealing unit is shifted onto the through defect, pulled together and crimped using two power crimping clamps temporarily attached to it within the boundaries of the zones until the flow of the pumped product from under the sealing unit stops. Further work to repair the through defect and strengthen the pipeline is no longer carried out in an emergency manner, but in a routine manner. The repair structure according to the proposed method is crimped. Process composite rings glued to the pipeline and reinforcing composite rings mounted on top of them rigidly connect the repair structure to the defective section of the pipeline, which removes both circumferential and axial stresses from it, thereby removing it from the stress-strain state.

EFFECT: ensuring the restoration of the tightness and load-bearing capacity of the repaired section of the pipeline to the state of a defect-free pipe puts the proposed method among the permanent methods of repairing pipelines.
