FIELD: additive techniques.

SUBSTANCE: manufacture of tools for friction stir welding. For the manufacture of tools, finely dispersed powder of martensitic chromium-nickel stainless steel grade 17-4PH with an average particle size of 5 to 50 microns is used. 3D printing of the tool is carried out on a ProX DMP 200 unit using selective laser sintering in an inert gas atmosphere. The resulting tool is tempered at a temperature of 400-600°C for 0.5 hour to 3 hours.

EFFECT: obtaining a solid tool made with the required geometric accuracy and having high hardness.
