FIELD: medicine; therapy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of death in patients hospitalized with a diagnosis of COVID-19. A method of predicting the risk of in-hospital death in patients with COVID-19 includes determining blood oxygen saturation in the air during the first two hours from the patient’s admission to the hospital and glomerular filtration rate using the CKD-EPI formula on the first day of hospitalization. The probability of death at the time of hospitalization is calculated using the logistic regression formula P= exp 20.26 + (-0.0216*X1) + (-0.2203*X2) / 1+exp 20.26 + (-0.0216* X1) + (-0.2203*X2), where P is the probability of death during hospitalization for COVID-19; X1 is glomerular filtration rate according to the CKD-EPI formula on the first day of hospitalization (ml/min/1.73m2); X2 is oxygen saturation in the air, %, determined during the first two hours of hospitalization using a pulse oximeter; exp is an exponent equal to 2.72.
EFFECT: invention provides an accessible, simple and effective method of predicting the risk of hospital mortality in patients with COVID-19.
