FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cardiology and is intended for prediction of risk of fatal outcome in hospital period in patients with heart failure with moderately reduced left ventricular ejection fraction after acute decompensation. Presence of frequent ventricular premature beats is determined and the width of the QRS complex on the ECG is determined; the presence of varicose veins of the lower extremities complicated by thrombophlebitis is detected, and a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is calculated. And if the RDW-CV is below 13.5% and the presence of frequent ventricular premature beats with widening of the QRS complex of more than 0.13 s, or if RDW-CV is 13.5–14.8% and the presence of varicose veins of the lower extremities, complicated by thrombophlebitis, or if RDW-CV is more than 16.1% and GFR is less than 40 ml/min/1.73 m2, lethal outcome is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables more likely to determine categories of patients in need of more active observation and treatment by more accurate prediction of the risk of fatal outcome in patients with moderately reduced left ventricular ejection fraction after acute decompensation by assessing the aggregate of the most significant values.
