FIELD: neuropsychology; gerontology.

SUBSTANCE: used for the prevention and correction of mild cognitive impairment in the elderly. Conduct a course of neuropsychological rehabilitation in combination with biofeedback sessions (BFB-therapy). The course of neuropsychological rehabilitation includes exercises consisting of 4 blocks per four exercises each. Biofeedback therapy sessions are aimed at increasing the power of beta rhythms and suppressing theta brain activity; they are carried out throughout the course of neuropsychological rehabilitation, every other day. The controlled parameter is the ratio of the power of beta and theta EEG rhythms of the patient (theta/beta index), recorded using monopolar electrodes on the patient's head. The effectiveness of the correction is assessed by comparing the results of measuring the general level of constant potentials (LCP) and theta/beta EEG index before neurocorrection and the results after completion of the course with standard values. An effective shift in the average LCP is considered to be at least 25% towards the reference values, theta/beta index - at least 35%.

EFFECT: improving the cognitive performance of elderly people with mild cognitive impairment by evaluating the measurement data of the level of constant potentials of the EEG brain.
