SUBSTANCE: invention relates to x-ray computed tomography research methods and is intended to outline the recommendations for emergency surgery in patients with a verified diagnosis of abdominal aortic aneurysm. A method of assessing the degree of risk of rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm involves performing a computer aortography of the abdominal aorta with subsequent scoring of the following risk factors: aneurysm diameter, draping aorta symptom, hyperdense “sickle” symptom, compaction of para-aortic tissue, and thickness of parietal thrombotic masses. Then the risk P of rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm is calculated by including the obtained points in the original formula. When P is from 0 to 24% inclusive, a low risk of rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm in the next 10 days is predicted. When P is from 25 to 50% inclusive, there is an average risk of aneurysm rupture. When P is 51% or more, there is a high risk of aneurysm rupture.

EFFECT: method provides early rapid identification among the general population of patients with an abdominal aortic aneurysm of patients at high risk of developing a rupture of the aneurysm wall.
