FIELD: biotechnology; agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method for identifying a mutation in the fifth exon of the FAD3A gene, leading to a decrease in the content of linolenic acid in flaxseed oil. The method is based on amplification of a fragment of the FAD3A gene of the test sample and two standards: without mutation and with mutation, followed by analysis of high-resolution melting curves.
EFFECT: invention allows, starting from the early stages of the breeding process, to highly accurately select flax plants with the desired mutation of the FAD3A gene in a homozygous state or without it, which will have a certain content of linolenic acid in the oil.
