FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing a nuclear reactor fuel assembly, including the operations of manufacturing and controlling fuel elements, applying a protective coating to each fuel element, assembling prepared fuel elements into the fuel assembly, fixing the head and shank, cleaning from the protective coating and drying. Moreover, the operations of applying the protective coating and assembling fuel elements into the fuel assembly are combined, using a water-soluble lubricant containing ethoxylated alkylphenol and monobasic unsaturated fatty acids as the protective coating, which is applied to the surface of the fuel element moved by in the horizontal direction along its own axis into the cells of spacer grids through a device for applying the protective coating installed on the assembly stand. The operation of washing off the protective coating is carried out by water jets under pressure at the ambient temperature.
EFFECT: improved quality of manufacture of the fuel assembly of a nuclear reactor while ensuring the efficiency of the process.
