FIELD: surgery.
SUBSTANCE: in case of surgical excision, the unchanged parathyroid glands are placed in Euro-Collins solution at a temperature of 5°C for 5 min. Then the tissue of the parathyroid glands is removed from the solution and using a scalpel is divided into fragments. The crushed gland tissue is placed in a syringe with 0.2 ml of Euro-Collins solution and injected into the thyroid tissue with a 21G injection needle to a depth of 0.3 cm. The injection site in the thyroid remnant is sealed with a single suture with a 5/0 absorbable suture material. The wound is closed in layers.
EFFECT: preserving the functional activity of viable and morphologically unchanged fragments of the parathyroid glands that were accidentally removed or injured during surgery.
