FIELD: medicine; endocrine surgery.
SUBSTANCE: total parathyroidectomy with bilateral removal of paratracheal fat is performed. Upper thymus horns are resected. Then the least changed parathyroid gland is fragmented with the help of a scalpel: 1/3 are sent for histological examination, 2/3 of glands are dissected into fragments. Fragments are immersed in physiological sodium chloride solution. Obtained suspension is introduced into a lobe of the thyroid gland by a puncture method under visual control. Insulin syringe and 18 G injection needle are used.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase efficiency of recovery of viability and functional activity of replanted tissue of parathyroid gland, correcting persistent and recurrent hyperparathyroidism, preventing development of persistent postoperative hypoparathyroidism after surgery in patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism.
