FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: following is proposed: a method of cultivating methane-oxidizing microorganisms in a continuous mode with a supply rate of a nutrient mineral medium of 0.26–0.38 h-1 at a temperature control of 41–43°C, at pH of 5.8–5.4, aerated with methane-air in a ratio of 1:3, respectively. Under conditions of the exponential stage of growth, the concentration of the nutrient medium, balanced for all components, is increased discretely by 20%, directly proportional to the concentration of biomass and the specific growth rate of microorganisms. At the same time, the residual concentrations of phosphorus, nitrogen and dissolved oxygen readings in the culture fluid are continuously monitored and maintained constant.

EFFECT: invention ensures stable production of a product with high productivity in fermenters of various volumes with different mass transfer characteristics.
