METHOD OF IMPLANTING INTRAOCULAR LENS THROUGH PUPILLARY OPENING OF ARTIFICIAL IRIS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61F9/07 

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for implantation of an intraocular lens (IOL) through the pupillary opening of an artificial iris (IR). Paracenteses, the main corneal incision, and anterior capsulorhexis are performed. The lens masses are removed. A cohesive viscoelastic is injected between the layers of the lens capsule. Then an IR with a pupillary opening diameter of 3 mm is implanted. The viscoelastic is washed out from under the IR. A hydrophobic IOL is implanted into the capsular bag through the pupillary opening of the IR, placing the tip of the cartridge through the pupillary opening of the IR at an angle of 45 degrees in relation to it, placing the tip under the pupillary edge of the IR. After IOL implantation, the viscoelastic is washed out of the capsular bag and the paracenteses are sealed.

EFFECT: invention provides prevention of postoperative hypertension due to thorough leaching of viscoelastic from the capsular bag and from under the IR with subsequent implantation of the IOL, and also prevents rupture of the capsular bag due to sequential implantation of the IR and IOL.
