SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for connecting tapes and a method for connecting the first tape to the second tape to create a continuous tape. In the device for connecting tapes proposed by the invention, during a continuous supply of the first tape, the end section of the first tape is connected to the initial section of the second tape by means of an adhesive connection through a liquid located at the connection section, in particular water. The invention further relates to a method for joining two strips, a processing system and application of the method. The tape joining device and method according to the invention can be used in particular for continuously providing a security tape for a security document such as a banknote.
EFFECT: process of tape connections is simplified.
