FIELD: medicine; cardiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the prevention and treatment of functional class III chronic heart failure (CHF) in patients with ventricular tachyarrhythmias and an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator. Patients undergo transthoracic Doppler echocardiography to assess right ventricular systolic pressure, reflecting pulmonary artery systolic pressure, and venous blood is collected to determine the rate of mitochondrial respiration in the medium after adenosine diphosphate has been consumed. Then the probability of developing functional class III CHF is calculated using the original formula. If the prognostic coefficient is more than 0.43, it is predicted that the patient has functional class III CHF.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of CHF therapy in patients with ventricular tachyarrhythmias and an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator, thereby improving the quality of life of patients.
