FIELD: polymer composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer composite materials that are highly resistant to ionizing radiation. The composite material, based on polyethylene grade “ПВД 15303-003”, is modified with SiO2 nanoparticles as a filler, while the modification is carried out with SiO2 nanoparticles, 12 nm in size, specific surface area of 220 m2/g, at a concentration of 1 wt.%.
EFFECT: creating a nanocomposite material with high radiation-protective characteristics based on polyethylene in the form of a matrix modified with SiO2 nanoparticles by introducing them into the polymer volume.
