SUBSTANCE: proposed method can be used in thermal power plants. Method of operation of a regenerative gas turbine expander power unit of a combined heat and power plant containing a high-pressure gas pipeline of 1.1–1.2 MPa, high- and low-pressure gas heaters, high- and low-pressure turboexpanders, a reduction gearbox, a compressor, a regenerative air heater, a combustion chamber, a gas turbine, an electric generator, gas-water recovery heat exchanger, booster gas compressor, heating network water heater, heating network heating network heating water pipelines; most of the high pressure gas is heated to 120°C by the heat of the heat transfer agent heated in a recovery heat exchanger by heat of combustion products, which are expanded in a gas turbine , subjected to expansion in a high-pressure turboexpander to 0.5–0.65 MPa, heated with the heat of the heat transfer agent to 90–85°C, subjected to expansion in a low-pressure turboexpander to 0.14–0.15 MPa, heated with heat of the heat transfer agent to 40–50°C and supplied to the boiler units of the combined heat and power plant; in operating modes of a power plant with high flow rates of high-pressure gas, the compressor and booster gas compressor are driven from high- and low-pressure turboexpanders, the electric generator is driven from a gas turbine to obtain maximum electrical power and efficiency of the power plant; in operating modes with low high-pressure gas flow rates, the compressor and booster gas compressor are driven both from high- and low- pressure turboexpanders and from a gas turbine which leads to a decrease in electrical power and efficiency of the power plant.

EFFECT: method of operation of regenerative gas turbine is proposed.
