FIELD: production of flat springs.

SUBSTANCE: device can be used in various devices as a mechanical energy accumulator. The method involves using a workpiece in the form of a metal plate, preliminary heat treatment of the workpiece, after which the main mechanical treatment is carried out by electrical discharge or water jet cutting, which ensures the formation of coils of a spiral spring. The specified heat treatment includes hardening, in which the workpiece is kept for an hour at a temperature of 870–900°C followed by cooling to 10–20°C in the coolant liquid. Then the aging process is carried out, during which the workpiece is kept at a temperature of 500–600°C for 10-12 hours. The cutting tool is positioned perpendicular or at an angle to the upper plane of the workpiece.

EFFECT: cyclic strength of the spring increases.
