METHOD FOR SIMULATING GROUND NUCLEAR EXPLOSION Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC F42B1/00

Abstract RU 2807426 C1

FIELD: explosion simulation.

SUBSTANCE: to simulate a ground-based nuclear explosion, a ground-based nuclear explosion simulator is assembled at the explosion site and an electro-explosive network is installed from an electric main and a pyrotechnic console with clamps and a button. The simulator is made in form of a mortar with a barrel and a bottom. A cardboard ring is installed at the bottom of the mortar barrel. An expelling and igniting charge with an electric igniter and a wire is installed inside the cardboard ring in its center, which is removed from the mortar and connected to the electric main. A wad is installed in the mortar up to the cardboard ring. The mortar is filled with a fuel mixture, on which a cardboard gasket is installed. The dust mixture is placed on the cardboard pad. The electric igniter wires are connected to the terminals of the pyrotechnic console. The electric igniter is configured to ignite the expelling and igniting charge when pressing a button on the pyrotechnic remote control. The cardboard ring is designed to reduce the explosive load at the moment of ignition. The wad is designed to prevent gas breakthrough at the initial moment of ejection of the fuel mixture. The expelling and ignition charge is designed to form powder gases after ignition, to crush the fuel mixture, to eject it upward along the mortar barrel, to form a fuel-air mixture, to form an explosive combustion of the fuel-air mixture, to form a fireball and a mushroom-shaped dust cloud.

EFFECT: reproduction of a visual simulation of a ground-based nuclear explosion, training of ground reconnaissance agencies to determine the parameters and detect the epicentre of a nuclear explosion, as well as improving the quality of training of ground forces for combat operations in conditions of the use of nuclear weapons.
