FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: method of treating an acute episode of acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) in a person in need of it is described. The method includes the stages of performing a previous plasma exchange (PEX), administering a first dose of a polypeptide in the amount of 1–80 mg to the specified person, performing a PT, administering a subsequent dose of the specified polypeptide in the amount of 1–80 mg, where the specified polypeptide contains the following SEQ ID NO: 1.
EFFECT: invention expands the arsenal of methods of treating an acute episode of acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP).
