METHOD FOR TRAPPING CARBON DIOXIDE FROM FLUE GASES Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC B01D53/62

Abstract RU 2807822 C1

FIELD: chemical production.

SUBSTANCE: separation of flue gas components using the method of gas hydrate crystallization and membrane technology, used to trap carbon dioxide from flue gases in the electrical power and chemical industries. The method for trapping carbon dioxide from flue gases involves loading a mixture of water with a tetrabutylammonium promoter into the first reactor block. Then a gas mixture of nitrogen and carbon dioxide with concentrations of 83.13 and 16.87 mol.%, respectively, is supplied to the first reactor block at a rate of 900 kmol/min at a temperature of 50°C and pressure 0.1 MPa. The mixture is divided into two streams, one flow goes to the formation of gas hydrates at temperatures from 0°C to 10°C, and the other goes into the membrane assembly. In the membrane assembly, the flow is also divided into two flows, one of which is discharged into the atmosphere with a carbon dioxide content of no more than 2 mol.%, and the second goes to the second reactor block. In this case, the gas hydrates formed in the first reactor block are destroyed at temperatures above 30°C. The released gas is sent to the second reactor block, where it is mixed with the gas flow from the membrane assembly. The recovered carbon dioxide is then removed from the second reactor block. The unreacted gas is mixed with the incoming flue gas flow and supplied to the first reactor block.

EFFECT: increase in the degree of carbon dioxide recovery.
