SUBSTANCE: invention relates to 1-(phenyl{phenylimino}methyl)piperidine-2,6-dione of formula I and a method of its preparation. The method is carried out by reacting N-phenylbenzamidine with glutaric acid anhydride in a molar ratio of 1:1.15 in chloroform for 5 hours at ambient temperature.

EFFECT: technical result is the production of a new chemical compound that can be used in medicine as a potential analgesic.
