FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry, specifically to a method of producing catalysts for medium-temperature conversion of carbon oxide with steam, which can be used in preparing a nitrogen-hydrogen mixture for ammonia synthesis. In the method of preparing a catalyst for medium-temperature conversion of carbon oxide with steam, involving mechanical activation of an iron-containing component with a copper compound in the presence of oxalic acid, mixing the mass, molding, drying and calcining granules, according to invention as iron-containing component there used is mixture of metal iron powder and spent iron-chromium catalyst at weight ratio Fe / catalyst = (1÷4):(4÷1) with subsequent calcination, addition of 0.5÷6.0 wt% of chromic anhydride, followed by stirring.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increase in specific surface area and high thermal stability of catalyst.
