SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in products for defence, special and civil purposes. The claimed method for checking the integrity of optical and electrical circuits in laser initiation systems for energy materials consists in using one laser diode, one optical fibre between the laser diode and the laser initiation unit for initiation and verification modes of the optical circuit, and a laser diode power supply having two independent current sources: a low current source and a high current source, which receive control commands from the controller. When checking the integrity of the laser diode and the optical path, a low current source is turned on, the laser diode operates at low currents, compared to the initiation mode, low-power radiation propagates along the optical path to the divider and is divided, after which part of the radiation propagates to the reflective coating in the laser initiation unit, is reflected from the specified coating and enters the first photodetector through the same optical path, and the other part of the radiation after the splitter goes directly to the second photodetector, after which the signals received from these photodetectors are transmitted to the controller to check the integrity of the optical circuits in laser initiation systems. When checking the operability of the power source itself, a high current source is turned on, to which the electrical equivalent of the laser diode is connected, whereas the laser diode is first turned off, the signal from the equivalent of the laser diode is transmitted to the controller to check the integrity of electrical circuits in laser initiation systems.

EFFECT: increasing the reliability of the laser initiation system by using the integrity control means that make up the system of optical and electrical circuits.
