FIELD: medical instruments.
SUBSTANCE: method of manufacturing a cutting electrode for a surgical instrument intended for connecting and cutting tissue, using a workpiece made of an electrically conductive material, includes making a programmed destruction site on the workpiece, dividing the workpiece into the first and second sections, placing the workpiece equipped with a programmed destruction site in a casting mold, which has a socket abutting the first portion and defining a cavity around the second portion, filling the mold with polymer to create a plastic body that encloses the second portion, opening the mold and removing the plastic body with the workpiece captured therein, and breaking the first portion from the second portion along the space programmed destruction. A cutting electrode for a surgical instrument and a surgical instrument for connecting and cutting tissue containing this cutting electrode are disclosed.
EFFECT: creating an electrode that provides energy savings.
