FIELD: measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: inventions are related to a method and a system for creating a software-implemented module capable of determining the concentration of an analyte in a sample of physiological fluid. A method for creating a software-implemented module configured to determine the concentration of an analyte in a sample of physiological fluid, the method comprising, in one or more data processing devices, providing the first set of measurement data. The first set of measurement data represents first colour information obtained by processing image data from images of a region of interest of one or more test strips, the images indicating a change in colour of the region of interest in response to application of one or more first samples of a physiological fluid containing the analyte to the area of interest and recorded by a plurality of devices, each of which is configured to record an image and process the image data to generate the first colour information. A plurality of devices is provided with various device software and/or hardware configurations used for recording an image and processing image data in the device. The devices are equipped with various types of cameras used to capture images, or the devices are equipped with various software applications used in the devices to process the captured images; a neural network model is created by a machine learning process using an artificial neural network containing support for the neural network model. Training data is created from the first measurement data, validation data, and test data set; and the neural network model is trained using the training data, wherein the training data represents the entire population of devices and types of experiments, and a software-implementable module containing the first analysis algorithm representing the neural network model is created. The software module is configured to determine the concentration of an analyte in a second sample of physiological fluid based on analysis of a second set of measurement data indicative of second colour information obtained by image processing of the images a region of interest on one or more test strips when loaded into a data processing device having one or more processors, wherein the images indicate a change in colour of the region of interest in response to application of a second sample of physiological fluid containing the analyte to the region of interest.
EFFECT: provision of improved technology for determining the concentration of an analyte in a sample of physiological fluid.
