FIELD: medicine; otorhinolaryngology; surgery.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when performing emergency tracheotomy. Emergency tracheotomy is performed using a device represented by a chair with a sliding back and a headrest, adjustable to the height of the patient’s back. The patient is placed on a chair so that both shoulder joints are pulled back and the head is tilted back by moving the headrest. The operator then palpates the externally retracted trachea and performs an emergency tracheotomy.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase the efficiency of emergency tracheotomy, as well as to facilitate surgical access during its implementation by placing the patient in a sitting position on the presented device with the patient's head and shoulder joints retracted back, which allows the trachea to be moved outward.
