SUBSTANCE: following is described: modified influenza H3 hemagglutinin (HA) protein for producing a virus-like particle (VLP), wherein the HA protein contains an amino acid sequence with at least one substitution compared to the corresponding wild-type amino acid sequence, wherein at least one substitution is a substitution of one or more than one amino acid corresponding to amino acids at positions 382, 384, 524, or 528 of the reference sequence of the following SEQ ID NO: 92, and optionally amino acid substitutions corresponding to amino acids at positions 392, 431, 525 and/or 526 of the following reference sequence SEQ ID NO: 92, wherein the amino acid substitutions corresponding to positions 524 and 528 are non-cysteine substitutions. Also a nucleic acid for producing a modified influenza H3 HA protein, wherein the nucleic acid contains a nucleotide sequence encoding the modified influenza Н3 HA protein is described. A virus-like particle (VLP) for inducing an immune response in a subject is provided, wherein VLP contains a modified influenza H3 HA protein. A method of producing an influenza virus-like particle (VLP) in a plant, plant part, or plant cell, as well as the corresponding plant, plant part, and plant cell, is presented. The following is disclosed: a composition for inducing immunity to influenza infection in a subject, the composition comprising an effective dose of VLP and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, adjuvant or an excipient. A method of increasing the yield of VLP production in a plant, plant part or plant cell is presented.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the yield of VLP in the plant.
