SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol-generating device and a method for generating a mixed aerosol. The aerosol-generating device comprises a first storage portion, a first liquid aerosol-generating substrate contained in the first storage portion, an electrospray device configured to generate a first aerosol from the first liquid aerosol-generating substrate, the electrospray device comprising a nozzle configured with being able to receive the first liquid aerosol-generating substrate from the first storage portion. The electrospray device includes a voltage circuit comprising a ground circuit, wherein the voltage circuit is configured to apply a voltage difference between the first liquid aerosol-forming substrate and the circuit ground. The aerosol-generating device also includes a second storage portion, a second liquid aerosol-generating substrate contained in the second storage portion, a heater configured to heat the second liquid aerosol-generating substrate from the second storage portion, and a mixing chamber in communication with in a fluid medium with a nozzle and a heater. The heater is located downstream of the nozzle.

EFFECT: first liquid aerosol-generating substrate is enabled to non-thermally evaporate via the aerosol-generating device, thereby enabling the generation of an aerosol with a droplet size of 400 nm or less, which enables pulmonary delivery of the aerosol to a user.
