METHOD FOR PREDICTING QUALITY OF CONTRAST VISION AFTER IMPLANTATION OF MULTIFOCAL INTRAOCULAR LENSES Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B5/00 A61F9/07

Abstract RU 2809807 C1

FIELD: ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: quality of contrast vision is predicted after implantation of multifocal intraocular lenses in low light conditions. The presence of undesirable light effects is detected in the patient - blinding by bright light, rainbow circles around luminous objects at night - and assessed in points, and if unwanted light effects do not bother, then score 1 point, if they occur rarely - 2 points, and if they are always bothered - 3 points, and the quality of spatial contrast sensitivity with light exposure (P) is predicted for a contrast parameter of 1:2.7 using the original equation. When P is more than 0.5, high quality of contrast vision is predicted under these conditions. When P is 0.5 or less, then low quality of contrast vision is predicted under these conditions.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to predict the quality of contrast vision after implantation of multifocal intraocular lenses for wide groups of patients without the need for expensive equipment while maintaining the accuracy of the examination, which allows reducing the time of diagnostic examination and reducing the medical burden.
