FIELD: optical materials science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the development of a composition and a method of producing a transparent glass-crystalline material of optical quality, having nonlinear properties, with nano-sized LiNbO3 and LiB3O5 crystals forming an ordered anisotropic texture in a matrix of modified lithium borate glass. This glass-crystalline material can be used to double the frequency of high-power optical radiation in the wavelength range of 500–6,250 nanometers. To obtain glass-crystalline textured glass material composition, (mol.%): Li2O 29, B2O3 63, Nb2O5 8 glass is heated in a furnace at a speed of 7°C/min up to temperature 520°C in a uniform electric field with a frequency of 15 kHz and a voltage of 1 kV/mm, which is applied normally to the glass plate through ceramic ferroelectric electrodes.
EFFECT: creation of a glass-crystalline material with a uniform volumetric texture from nonlinear optical crystals, having a quadratic nonlinearity coefficient of at least 1.2 pm/V.
