FIELD: biochemistry; molecular biology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the design of a cassette for growing, selection and storage of protein crystals in containers for a flow crystallography system. The cassette contains a base for placing a plurality of crystallization containers in a horizontal position, made in the form of a single plate. A plurality of triangular-shaped mounting grooves with a truncated apex are formed on the upper surface of the plate for mounting containers. The top of the triangular section of the grooves is directed towards the bottom of the cassette base. In the depths of the grooves, through slots are made, located along the axis of the grooves, to provide the possibility of illuminating samples placed in transparent containers and subsequent visual monitoring of the crystallization efficiency. The grooves are designed to ensure that the container is placed in a horizontal position at all stages of crystallization, analysis and storage of the results. The cassette is additionally equipped with a removable cover, on the inside of which there is a flexible silicone insert to allow fixing the horizontal position of the containers and pressing them against the side surfaces of the grooves. In the front part of the upper surface of the container base plate, a recess is formed to accommodate the protruding parts of the container plugs.

EFFECT: invention provides an expansion of the arsenal of means and the creation of a universal cassette design for placing containers of different volumes and lengths, which makes it possible to increase the efficiency of growth of membrane protein crystals in different volumes and conditions.
