SUBSTANCE: method for automated wear diagnostics and forecasting of the life of an automobile internal combustion engine, which does not require special expensive equipment, is proposed using the computer program “Resource Predict Tester” (RPT), which takes into account the nonlinearities of the pressure distribution in the engine lubrication system. In the text fields of the program, the source data and the oil pressure in the lubrication system of the engine being diagnosed are indicated. As a result of the calculation by the RPT program, a technical diagnosis of the internal combustion engine is automatically obtained, which includes an assessment of the technical condition of the internal combustion engine, the value of the bearing clearance of the crank mechanism, an assessment of the quality of the assembly or operation of the internal combustion engine, mileage and projected mileage before the next overhaul in kilometers, wear and projected resource as a percentage, an assessment of the nature of friction in bearings.
EFFECT: method provides simplicity, high speed and low cost of diagnosis, reliability of diagnosis.
