METHOD OF PREDICTING RISK OF CEREBRAL PALSY IN CHILDREN BORN WITH EXTREMELY LOW BODY WEIGHT Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B5/16 G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2809909 C1

FIELD: medicine; pediatrics; neonatology.

SUBSTANCE: severe perinatal damage to the central nervous system, necrotizing enterocolitis, and hemorrhagic syndrome in the neonatal period are detected. The minimum platelet count for the neonatal period and the sex of the child are determined. Then the predictive coefficient (z) is calculated as the classification value of the regression equation according to the stated formula. After this, the probability of developing cerebral palsy (p) is calculated according to the stated formula. If the p value is greater than 0.6, a high risk of developing cerebral palsy is predicted. If the p value is between 0.6 and 0.3, the average risk is determined. If the p value is less than 0.3, a low risk of developing cerebral palsy is predicted.

EFFECT: method simplifies and increases the accuracy of predicting the risk of developing cerebral palsy in children born with extremely low body weight.
