SUBSTANCE: used in the construction of adaptive radio links for short-wave (HF) and ultra-short-wave (VHF) radio communications. The method for organizing communication with spatial adaptation is that discrete information is sent from the transmitting side, and on the receiving side, based on the received discrete information, a decision is made on multi-parameter adaptive control of the communication process and, through the reverse channel transmitter, a signal for controlling the communication process is transmitted to the reverse channel receiver, measured parameters of the signal and interference environment, select the adaptation parameter in terms of transmission speed, radiation power and operating frequency, additionally, many states of the radiation patterns of transmitting and receiving antennas are used as initial data.

EFFECT: reducing the time spent on determining the required adaptation parameters in case of unsatisfactory quality of the communication channel by controlling the radiation pattern of the antenna of the transmitting and receiving device, which additionally provides energy gain, increasing the speed of information transmission and its reliability, as well as reducing the radiation power of radio transmitting devices and communication channel downtime.
