FIELD: lithium extraction.

SUBSTANCE: extraction of lithium ions from lithium-containing brine. The brine is contacted with the lithium ion screen for less than one hour in the first reactor to form a lithium ion complex with the lithium ion screen, which is then separated and contacted with water before being decomplexed in the second reactor. Lithium ions are decomplexed from the lithium-ion sieve in the second reactor to form a solution of acid lithium salt eluate separated from the lithium-ion sieve. In this case, the lithium-ion sieve contains titanium or niobium oxide; the pH value of the first reactor is maintained by adding alkali. Decomplexation is performed by elution using an acid with a concentration of less than 0.1 M, which is maintained by adding the said acid. The average contact time is less than 1 hour. The lithium ion sieve is separated from the lithium acid salt eluate solution. After decomplexing, the lithium ion sieve is contacted with water in the second reactor to produce regenerated lithium ion sieve and diluted washing acid.

EFFECT: ability to extract lithium from brines with high concentrations of calcium, sodium, and magnesium.
