FIELD: processing of minerals.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for separating suspended substances from a saponite clay suspension. The method of clarifying a saponite clay suspension is carried out by introducing a low-molecular additive and subsequent separation of the solid phase by settling and/or centrifugation. Calcium sulphate hemihydrate is used as a low-molecular additive in an amount of 132-390 mg per 25 ml of saponite clay suspension, the concentration of which is 4.4-20.9 g/l.
EFFECT: process of clarification of saponite clay suspension is accelerated, costs and harmful emissions into water bodies are reduced.
