FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: casting of semi-finished steel products with a high titanium content. A method is proposed for producing a semi-finished steel product with a target titanium content of at least 3.5 wt.%, and the method includes the following stages: adding aluminum to molten steel in such a way that molten steel contains at least 0.1 wt.% aluminum, adding mineral compounds containing aluminum, calcium and, if necessary, magnesium to the molten steel to provide and maintain a slag composition on the molten steel, in which the ratio of CaO to Al2O3 (CaO/Al2O3) is 0.7-2, and the slag contains up to 25 wt.% CaF2, adding titanium to the molten steel to achieve the target content and casting the steel as a semi-finished product.
EFFECT: obtaining semi-finished steel products with a target titanium content of more than 3.5 wt.% with high mechanical properties.
