FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves biotransformation of plant β-sitosterol using a bacterial culture of Rhodococcus erythropolis VKPM AS-1901 while adding into the fermentation medium n-hexadecane and palmitic acid in a given ratio. β-sitosterol is then added to the fermentation medium in form of a mixture with β-cyclodextrin in ratio of 1:1 in Tween 80 solution, followed by removal of the solvent and acylation to obtain the end product.

EFFECT: invention increases degree of formation of stigmast-4-en-3-one.
