FIELD: wireless communications.

SUBSTANCE: method for specifying DMRS ports for at least one UE in a wireless communication system is carried out at a base station (TRP) supporting the simultaneous transmission of multiple spatial MIMO data streams, each of which is associated with a different DMRS port. The method comprises the steps of selecting a DMRS port group containing serial DMRS port indexes to be used on the UE from a total number of serial DMRS port indexes available for use on the UE, and obtaining a code parameter representing the selected DMRS port group, and signal the UE with service information including the received code parameter.

EFFECT: providing the ability to support a larger number of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) ports, ensuring adaptability of the DMRS structure depending on bandwidth requirements, with the ability to vary its frequency and time density without modifying the DMRS structure itself.
