FIELD: microwave radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for protecting transmitting and receiving equipment from the effects of signals at high power levels. The microwave protective device comprises a microwave path in the form of a stripline transmission line and several input and output stages of back-to-back pin diodes that shunt the stripline transmission line to the housing. In the design of pin diodes, the cathode goes around the anode, and at the same time, in the input stages, the pin diodes have a larger p-region area than in the output stages; their connection circuits with the body, consisting of strip lines and metallized through holes in the substrate, are located directly at the pin-diode. In the circuits connecting the output stages to the housing, the diffusion capacitance of the pin diodes and the inductance of the strip transmission lines are designed in such a way as to form successive resonant circuits in the output stage with a natural frequency falling within the operating frequency band of the protective device.
EFFECT: expanded operating frequency band of the protective device, increased efficiency of suppressing a high-power signal, increased value of the maximum permissible power of the input signal while maintaining small overall dimensions.
