FIELD: medicine; plastic and maxillofacial surgery.

SUBSTANCE: submental skin incision is made to mobilize a skin-fat flap on a pedicle along the anterior surface of the neck between the medial edges of the sternocleidomastoid muscles on both sides and mobilize soft tissue in the chin area, and form a pocket for future transposition of the fat flap. The layer of subcutaneous fatty tissue is dissected to the level of the superficial fascia of the neck, the fat flap is mobilized from the level of the thyroid cartilage up to its base, and this fat flap on the feeding pedicle is tilted 180 degrees from the neck area towards the chin, and placed in the formed pocket. Next, the shape and size of the flap are corrected according to the size of the pocket, the flap is fixed in the pocket with interrupted sutures using 3–0 Vicryl threads, after leveling the contours of the subcutaneous fatty tissue in the area of the anterior surface of the neck, the incision in the submental area is sutured in layers with surgical threads.

EFFECT: method allows to replenish the volume of soft tissue of the chin area and increase its projection through the use of augmentation of the chin area with a fat flap on a feeding pedicle with a base in the submental groove from the anterior surface of the neck.
