METHOD OF APPLYING SCREEN-VACUUM THERMAL INSULATION TO CRYOGENIC CONTAINER Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC B65D90/06 F16L59/07 F17C3/04

Abstract RU 2810802 C1

FIELD: thermal insulation of containers.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for applying thermal insulating coatings, for example with SVTI-2V-10 bags and can be used in devices for safe reception, storage, and transportation of liquid cryogenic products, including liquefied natural gas. The method of applying screen-vacuum thermal insulation to a cryogenic tank consists of applying several layers of screen-vacuum thermal insulation in the form of packages to the outer surface of the shell in the form of packages, fastened together by stitching or gluing, so that the end of any of the subsequent applied packages overlaps the previous package applied on the bottom or cylindrical part of the shell. The joints of the packages of each subsequent layer of insulation are placed on the shell or bottom offset from the joints of the packages of the previous layer; the closing joints of the packages of each layer should not be located in one line, but should be offset. In this case, the closing joints of the packages of the subsequent and previous layers should not overlap each other. Packages are also laid under pipelines; and a fibreglass cover is applied to the last layer of insulation.

EFFECT: increasing operational reliability, which is ensured by the constructive combination of layers of thermal insulation packages used, increasing the safety of the cryogenic product and eliminating its rapid evaporation in a cryogenic container under conditions of cryogenic temperatures, heating the container by solar radiation and high operating pressures.
