FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: production of butt clamps for contact wires. The method for manufacturing a bimetallic blank for a butt clamp die for contact wires, intended for operation under conditions of high mechanical stress and heating when passing currents, consists in welding the connection of the plates at the interatomic level. In this case, one plate is made of metal with low electrical resistivity, and the second plate is made of a carrier metal with high mechanical properties. In this case, the bimetallic workpiece is made from plates having an electrochemical potential in the connection of no more than 0.6 milliwatts. In this case, welding is carried out with the formation of an intermediate layer with a specific electrical resistance lower than that of metal plates with high mechanical properties. Also a butt clamp die for contact wires is claimed, which has a C-shaped profile and is made of a rectangular bimetallic blank. The butt clamp for contact wires contains two dies connected by bolts.
EFFECT: increasing the reliability and durability of the clamp for contact wires.
