FIELD: heating engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heating a ship's drainage system: scuppers, drainpipes and other open vertical water pipelines. The device ensures a tight fit of the heating cable to the walls of the drain in a wide range of diameters. The device is a stainless-steel spiral spring. The spring is held in a compressed state by a plastic tie and a layer of glue between the coils of the spring. The adhesive composition is made of a material (special polymer, special wax, etc.) that loses physical strength and adhesive ability when heated. On the outer coil of the spring, special loops are installed on opposite sides for attaching threads of the heating cable. The compressed state of the spring during installation is ensured only by fixation with a polymer composition. When power is applied after installing the heating line in the drain, the heating cable heats up, as a result of which the adhesive layer loses its adhesive ability and is destroyed, and the spring, straightening, with its outer coil tightly presses the heating cable to the walls of the pipeline.
