FIELD: medical equipment; traumatology and orthopedics.
SUBSTANCE: orthosis for fixing the fingers of the hand consists of a frame, including the finger part of the frame and the metacarpal part of the frame, adjacent to the fixed areas of the hand and repeating the contours of the fixed areas of the hand. The finger part of the frame is configured to adhere to the finger, at least along the palmar, back and one of the lateral surfaces of the finger. On the opposite side surface there is a longitudinal cut with a width of not more than 80% of the size of the finger at the fixation site. The finger part of the frame is integrally extended into the metacarpal part of the frame, covering the metacarpus along the palmar, lateral and partially dorsal surfaces so that in the area of the rear of the metacarpus in the metacarpal part of the frame there is a dorsal slot, and its width is not more than 80% of the width of the metacarpus. The frame is made of thermoplastic material with a bending elastic modulus of at least 1,000 N/mm2, and the softening temperature of the frame material is in the range of 50–90°C. The thickness of the frame ranges from 0.4 to 2.8 mm.
EFFECT: increased functionality, simplified manufacturing technology, improved hygienic properties while increasing ease of use.
