METHOD OF NERVE RESTORATION USING NERVE TRUNK IMPLANT CONTAINING SILK FIBROIN IN EXPERIMENT Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/00 A61F2/02 G09B23/28 

FIELD: experimental medicine; neurosurgery and tissue engineering.

SUBSTANCE: before surgical procedures, rats are given non-inhalational anesthesia by administering a solution of zoletil. Then a 1.0 cm long skin incision is made in the left thigh area. After this, the sciatic nerve is isolated using a blunt and sharp method. The left sciatic nerve is transected at the level of the mid-thigh, its ends are sutured to the ends of the artificial nerve in the form of a polymer tube made of polycaprolactone, filled with collagen gel and silk fibroin threads 10 mm long, with two sutures. Then the wound is sutured layer by layer, and nerve germination is monitored after 1.5 and 3.0 months.

EFFECT: method allows to restore the nerve using an artificial implant, which increases the level of nerve germination to 70–80%, which in turn ensures rapid restoration of active movements in the limb and the absence of pronounced trophic disorders.
