SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system (100) for supplying a certain amount of coffee beans to a beverage preparation device for preparing a coffee beverage, the system comprising a sealed container (20) of variable volume with a receptacle (22) of a certain volume in which coffee beans are stored, the receptacle (22) of a certain volume is configured to change its internal volume to adjust it depending on the number of coffee beans stored in it; wherein the system (100) further comprises an active dosing device (30) configured to move coffee beans relative to a receiver (22) of a certain volume, while the dosing device (30) is also sealed with respect to the external environment when moving coffee beans. The invention further relates to a method of operating a system (100) for supplying a certain amount of coffee beans to a beverage preparation device for preparing a coffee beverage.

EFFECT: present invention aims to overcome the limitations and problems of existing automatic systems, and to provide a simple and low-cost solution for storing and dispensing coffee beans from a container into fully automatic machines.
