SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to equipment for dispensing and preparing powdered food or drinking products, wherein the equipment includes dispensing device (60) and associated preparation or extraction device (70); wherein dispensing device (60) includes one or more housings for receiving one or more containers (10, 20) with powdered food or drink; wherein dispensing device (60) includes reading device (62) for obtaining information on product parameters of powdered food or drinking products in one or more containers (10, 20); wherein dispensing device (60) further includes a control unit configured to dispense a certain amount of the powdered food or drink product from each container (10, 20) in accordance with these product parameters and/or in accordance with the recipe data base (64) depending on the beverage to be prepared; wherein dispensing device (60) further includes encoder 63 for encoding beverage information on programmable identification means 65 on product holder (61) in dispensing device (60), where the dispensed powdered food or drink is directed; wherein preparation or extraction device (70) is configured to receive product holder (61) and includes reading means (72) for identifying beverage information in said identification means (65) on the product holder, wherein extraction device (70) further includes a control unit for extracting the beverage in accordance with the beverage information extracted from product holder (61) and/or according to the beverage information retrieved from the beverage database in this control unit. Invention also relates to a method for dispensing powdered food or drink products and preparing a beverage therefrom using dispensing and extraction equipment similar to that described. Invention also relates to the use of equipment for dispensing and extraction, similar to that described, for dispensing a certain beverage from powdered food or drinking products.
