FIELD: measuring equipment; instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring technology and field of optical instrument making, namely to non-destructive quality control of materials, in particular to non-contact methods of defectoscopy of transparent materials. Essence of invention lies in the fact that in method of optical tomography of transparent optical materials, workpiece of optical part made of transparent optical crystal intended for manufacturing infrared optics is irradiated with pulse-periodic laser beam, laser beam passes through entire workpiece of optical part, while defects (inhomogeneities) in workpiece of optical part for it are visualized with at least one thermal imager, and from obtained images both scattering indicatrix and indicatrix of thermal radiation of defects are analyzed.
EFFECT: increase in accuracy of determining optical homogeneity of workpiece of optical part from transparent optical crystal, which is transparent to laser radiation used, possibility of detecting microdefects in material volume, linear dimensions of which may not exceed 1 mcm.
